<br />t <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of May 25, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />í <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />Superintendent Beth made the following announcements: <br />- World Environment Day will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4th in Red <br />Morton Park, Valota Picnic Area in cooperation with the Public Works <br />Services Department~" Activities will include a bike race, tree planting and <br />children's games, all with a "respect the environment" theme. <br />- A three-year extension of an existing State After School Program grant <br />has been secured. ' <br />- Community Services Unit staff have been notified that their application for <br />a $243,000 state grant to help with inclusion of those with disabilities has <br />been granted. <br />- Currently recruiting for 13 lifeguard positions. <br /> <br />ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA <br /> <br />The regularmeeting of.the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br />at 8:35 pm to be reconvened at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at <br />the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br />California. <br /> <br /> <br />, <br />, " <br /> <br />
