<br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of September 28, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - WOODSIDE ROAD MEDIAN RENOVATION <br /> <br />'io'. .. <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover announced that as part of the Capital Improvement <br />Program, the medians on Woodside Road from the Alameda to Union <br />Cemetery will be renovated. He noted that all turf and old plant material will <br />be removed which will result in considerable water savings, lower <br />maintenance, and a more uniform look on Woodside Road. New trees and <br />lower maintenance plant materials will also be installed as part of the <br />renovation. The Commissioners were showed the plans of the proposed <br />renovation which included specific plant materials to be used. <br /> <br />I"': <br />~: <br /> <br />", , <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />M/S White/Morton: To approve the Woodside Road median <br />renovation project and to develop a plant palatte for the Commission. <br />Motion passed. (Yes-6, Abstain-l Joseph) <br /> <br />Mr. Vorametsanti announced the Fleishman Park plans are 35% complete. <br />The plans will be brought to the Commission for approval at their October <br />meeting. Fleishman Park neighbors will also be invited to attend the <br />meeti ng. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - REPORT FROM ART a. WINE FESTIVAL SUB-COMMITTEE <br /> <br />Commissioner Joseph reported that the sub-committee was unable to meet <br />due to her recent surgery. The sub-committee will schedule a meeting and <br />report at the October meeting. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - UPDATES <br /> <br />-Parks for the Future <br />Director Centeno reported that there is a bill to put a 1/8 of a cent sales tax <br />on the ballot for parks in San Mateo County is on the Governor's desk. The <br />bill has not been signed or vetoed at this point. The bill will become law if it <br />is not vetoed by the Governor. <br /> <br />-Community Garden <br />Superintendent Hover noted that the agreement is still at the San Francisco <br />City Attorney's Office, but he has met with the community group regarding <br />the community garden. <br /> <br />ITEM 7 - REVIEW OF COMMISSION CALENDAR <br /> <br />No changes to calendar. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />'" '::.. . <br />
