<br />"(c) <br /> <br />Any operator or owner of a vehicle to whom a <br /> <br />citation has been issued in accordance with the preceding <br /> <br />section may, within twenty-four hours of the time of the <br /> <br />issuance of such citation, pay to the appropriate court, <br /> <br />as a penalty for and full satisfaction of such violation, <br /> <br />the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00). <br /> <br />The mailing, in a sealed <br /> <br />envelope properly addressed through the United States mail, <br /> <br />of a check, money order or postal order, within twenty-four <br /> <br />hours from the time of issuance of the citation, or notice <br /> <br />of such violation, or the deposit with the police department <br /> <br />of the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00) within such twenty-four <br /> <br />hours constitutes compliance with this provision. <br /> <br />Delivery <br /> <br />of such envelope shall be the responsibility of such owner <br /> <br />or operator. <br /> <br />The failure of such owner or operator to make <br /> <br />such payment within said twenty-four hours shall render such <br /> <br />owner or operator subject to the penalties provided for <br /> <br />violations of the provisions of this division. <br /> <br />" (d) <br /> <br />Any person who shall violate any of the provisions <br /> <br />of this division and any person who aids, abets or assists <br /> <br />therein, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a <br /> <br />fine not exceeding Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each <br /> <br />offense or violation, or be imprisoned for a term not <br /> <br />exceeding sixty days in the county jail, or both. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after <br /> <br />its adoption. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />-2- <br />
