'j"\ I,..,,,,, 'e uUIHil_ RES 0 L UTI 0 N N 0.11 390 S E P l' 7 1990 RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROLLERS, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING EXECUTION OF PURCHASE DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH; AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 11326 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 11326 entitled, "Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Authorizing Advertisement for Bids for Traffic Signal Controller Cabinets", adopted June 25, 1990 by this Council, advertisement was made for bids for said equipment; and WHEREAS, on the recommendation of the Director of Community Development it appears to the satisfaction of this Council that bids responding to the requirements and specifications of the equipment required by the City cannot be obtained pursuant to formal advertisement for bids; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.76 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, this Council has, by motion duly made and carried, suspended the provisions of Article VII ("Purchasing") of Chapter 2 of said Code on the finding that strict compliance thereto would not serve the public interest and that the aforesaid equipment is of a unique nature and available from a single source only and is necessary in order to integrate into existing facilities of the City; and WHEREAS, a proposal has been submitted to this Council for the purchase of seventeen (17) traffic signal controllers which do conform to the City's specifications for such equipment; and WHEREAS, this Council desires to accept said proposal and to approve the purchase of the aforesaid equipment;
