<br />ý'1I- Z, <br /> <br />Subcommittee's history and understanding of the issues, it is hoped that the <br />Subcommittee members will lead and participate in discussion with their fellow <br />members on the City Council and Planning Commission. It is anticipated that the <br />Subcommittee will meet at least once a month. <br /> <br />Role of Staff <br />Planning staffs role will be to present General Plan issues and concepts to the <br />subcommittee, and then write the elements of the General Plan. Staff will also <br />present summaries of the elements so that the Subcommittee understands staffs <br />thinking and ideas. The Subcommittee has already reviewed summaries of the <br />Circulation and land Use Elements. Staff will also be working on a special format <br />for the document and will present it to the subcommittee at a future date. <br /> <br />Communication Process to the Planning Commission and City Council <br />The Subcommittee will periodically report back to the full Planning Commission and <br />City Council on the progress and ideas being discussed. To that end staff will <br />periodically prepare and present various progress reports to both bodies. The <br />purpose will be to get conceptual buy in on General Plan objectives and policies <br />before staff begins to fully write the documents. <br /> <br />The proposed process is as follows: Staff will present ideas, summaries, and <br />general topics of the General Plan to the subcommittee. Following consensus by <br />the subcommittee, staff will present a report to the City Council (and copy the <br />Planning Commission).
