Registration
. Information Technology
. Medical Records

To the extent that other existing programs are moved from SHC's Palo Alto facility instead of
the programs listed above, or new programs are initiated at the Stanford Outpatient Center, the
programs would be similar in nature to those that are described above and would be limited to
outpatient services. No urgent care, emergency room or in-patient hospital services will be
provided at the Redwood City site.

B.

Clinic Characteristics

The Stanford Outpatient Center's clinics will be open on weekdays only. The majority of
patients will have an appointment and will be seen within the period from 8:30 AM until 5:00
PM (appointments ending at 5:00 PM). The Sleep Center will be open 24 hours; patients at that
clinic generally will arrive and depart during the evening and morning, but will remain overnight
for clinical observation. Unscheduled patient visitors will be users of the laboratory, health
library, pharmacy, and optical dispensary.

Based on data collected at SHC's existing clinics in Palo Alto, approximately 44 percent of the
daily appointments will occur in the three hours between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. There will be
a second peak in the afternoon between 1 :00 PM and 4:00 PM when approximately 38 percent of
the daily appointments will occur.

SHC anticipates patients will be onsite for an average of 45 minutes. A typical patient
appointment will be approximately IS-minutes in the examination room. Patients will be asked
to arrive IS-minutes prior to their appointment, and spend an average of 15 minutes parking and
walking to and from their cars. Unscheduled visits are estimated to increase the daily patient
load by 10 percent.

The outpatient surgery facilities at the Center will be used by the clinic's doctors; therefore,
whenever a doctor will be seeing a patient, he or she will be either seeing a patient for a
scheduled appointment or will be performing a scheduled outpatient surgical procedure. Because
outpatient surgical procedures are typically longer than general appointments, the doctor
performing the procedures will see fewer patients during the day.

WC/30171463.1
