;:',Ie tI'

Based on the appointment data in Table 1, the average number of patients seen by the faculty on
a daily basis for the seven clinics ranged from 2 to 16. The Stanford Family Practice clinic had
the highest average number of appointments per faculty at 14 to 16 patients per day, while the
specialty clinics had substantially lower average rates.

The average number of daily appointments for all clinics was between 500 and 580 patients. The
average number of appointments per faculty ranged from 5.0 to 5.8 patients per day. This
overall low rate of patient appointments per faculty reflects the unique character of the Stanford
clinics due to their relationship to the Stanford Medical School and the academic research
conducted by the faculty.

1.

Population At Initial Occupancy

Initially, Stanford anticipates that it will use three of the four buildings for outpatient clinical
facilities. The fourth building will be used by SHC as an office building for SHC faculty,
researchers and staff, for the next seven to nine years.

Based upon the existing numbers of doctors, staff members, and medical personnel at the types
of clinics anticipated to be relocated to the Stanford Outpatient Center, employment totals for
clinic occupancy of three buildings are expected to be as follows:.

Doctors
3 staff per doctor
1 medical student per doctor
Anticipated total staff at clinic occupancy of three buildings is

100
300
100
500

Based upon existing data regarding annual patient visits at the types of clinics anticipated to be
relocated the Stanford Outpatient Center, patient totals for clinic occupancy of three buildings
are expected to be as follows:

Annual Doctor Visits
Annual Non-doctor visits (approximatelv 10 % of doctor visits)
Anticipated visitors per year with clinic occupancy of three buildings:

127,722
12.772
140,494

Based upon the square footage of the fourth building, and a ratio of 350 square feet per person
(the ratio that would reflect the anticipated predominate use as private offices for faculty),
employment associated with initial occupancy of the fourth building at the Redwood City site is
expected to be as follows:

Anticipated additional faculty and staff at initial occupancy of fourth building is (91,000 gsf /
350 gsf. per person) 260

WC/30171463.1
