%(-9

2.

Population at Full Clinic Occupancy

In order to evaluate longer term use of the site, SHC has calculated the total number of doctors
that could occupy all four buildings once all four buildings are devoted to Stanford Outpatient
Clinic programs. These calculations are based upon the square footage of the buildings and
proportionate growth of the existing clinic and research facilities to fill the available square
footage. With the retrofit of all four buildings (360,000 square feet) for clinical use, 134 Stanford
doctors (faculty) would staff the facilities.

Based on the current staffing levels at the existing clinics, there are on average three (3) staff to
every faculty member. This support staff ratio includes: nurses, administrators, registration,
information technology, medical records, and other support personnel such as maintenance,
janitorial, etc. Therefore, the total number of employees at the clinics would be 536 (134 faculty
plus 402 staff).

Because ofthe academic and research functions of the faculty, there are also research fellows,
medical students and research assistants at the facility, which are in addition to the staff
dedicated to providing the clinical and administrative services. On average there is one research
fellow, medical student or researcher on-site per faculty doctor on-site on a daily basis.
Combining the faculty, clinical staff, medical students and research assistants, the total number
of on-site "employees" would be 670 persons.

On a typical day, the number of employees on-site would be less than 670 due to vacations
(faculty members receive six weeks per year), off-site meetings and conferences, and
teaching/research commitments at the Medical School in Palo Alto.

In sum, SHC use of all four buildings for Stanford Outpatient Clinic programs is expected to
result in the following total numbers of doctors, staff and medical students:

Doctors
3 staff per doctor
I medical student per doctor
Anticipated total staff at clinic occupancy of all four buildings is

134
402
134
670

The doctor to patient ratio at the Stanford Outpatient Center is expected to be the same as
currently exists at the SHC facilities in Palo Alto. Based upon the same proportionate
adjustment in patient visits as has been applied to the numbers of doctors, staff members, and
medical students, the following annual number of patient visits is expected at clinic occupancy of
all four buildings:

Annual Doctor Visits
Annual Non-doctor visits ( alJproximately 10 % of doctor visits)
Anticipated visitors per year with clinic occupancy of all four buildings:

171,147
17.115
188,262

II.

Existing Site Conditions

WC/30171463.1
