6.1.A. - Page 3
ALTERNATIVES
Council could elect to not approve the Agreement, which will limit the City's pool of
consultants to those currently under contract. However, staff would eventually have
to seek Council's authorization to extend the terms and increase the not -to -exceed
amounts of those contracts. Additionally, limiting the pool to three firms may limit the
City's ability to meet its customer service goals.
FISCAL IMPACT
The aggregate amount of the six not -to -exceed contract amounts is $4,000,000.
Services are paid for through user fees. The term of the agreements include the
remainder of FY 2017-18 and will include all of FY 2018-19. Staff anticipates there will
be sufficient revenue to reimburse the City for as -needed building inspection and plan
review services and to offset the cost of City employee and supplies and other service
costs. Since the services are provided on an as -needed basis, the City would not be
obligated to pay the entire not -to -exceed amounts.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as
defined in CEQA Guidelines, section 15378 because the administrative activities will
not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment.
CHRISTOPHER DACUMOS
MANAGEMENT ANALYST II
AARON AKNIN
ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
MELISSA STEVENSON DIAZ
CITY MANAGER
ATTACHMENTS:
1.
