6.1.B. - Page 2
The Amendment will update the contract to add two Optional Services tasks that were
listed in the original contract: bidding support services and design support during
construction. The Amendment also includes additional design services to accommodate
protected bikeways, and other tasks related to Federal -aid grant funding procedures,
bus stop designs, and the historic properties.
Additionally, the Consultant is qualified and available to provide continued engineering
support services through the bidding and construction phase, including: 1) Bidding
Support Services ($15,414), and 2) Design Support During Construction Services
($152,790). These services are included in the Amendment as Optional Services that
can be performed if/when authorized by the City. We anticipate that the construction will
commence late this year, after the Middlefield Road/Woodside Road Intersection
Improvements project is complete.
ALTERNATIVES
Do not authorize the execution of the contract amendment and direct staff to complete
the project under a separate agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost for the services outlined in Amendment No. 1 is for an amount not to exceed
$258,378, and will be funded out of the Capital Outlay Fund.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
Approval of this amendment is not considered to be a project under the California
Environment Quality Act (CEQA). As a federally -funded project, The California
Department of Transportation is the delegated agency for NEPA compliance and has
determined that the project is a Categorical Exclusion under 23 CFR 771.117(c)(3). As
the lead agency for CEQA compliance, the City has determined that the project meets
the CEQA exemption criteria set forth in Section 15301 (Existing Facilities).
Furthermore, this project is being designed in compliance with the City's Engineering
Standards.
& 04J__
PETER DELGADO, PE
ASSOCIATE CIVIL ENGINEER
