(C) <br />OTCOMMUNITY BUILDING AND COMMUNICATION co <br />Working together, we build a community that is welcoming, vibrant and actively engaged in the life of <br />our city. <br />GOALS <br />Continue citywide communications and enhance community <br />engagement <br />Support the creation of new Neighborhood Associations <br />Increase engagement with Neighborhood Associations and all segments <br />of Redwood City's diverse community <br />Conduct a biannual community survey <br />UPDATE <br />In September, the City Council Communications Sub -Committee approved a <br />communications and community engagement work plan to support this <br />goal. City staff is actively accomplishing efforts within the work plan. <br />The City has begun to reinvigorate its Neighborhood Associations by hosting <br />quarterly Neighborhood Association leadership meetings, recruiting and <br />identifying new leaders, establishing a new Neighborhood Watch model, <br />and updating its Neighborhood Association map. The new map expands <br />Neighborhood Associations from eleven to seventeen to better respond to <br />the changing needs of the community by adding new neighborhoods <br />including Downtown and Bair Island. <br />City staff is increasing engagement across all Redwood City neighborhoods. <br />Some recent accomplishments include the reinvigoration of the City's <br />existing and new neighborhood associations; many new and existing <br />Neighborhood Associations have had or are planning to host their annual <br />meetings. A new neighborhood association map was developed and new <br />Neighborhood Association webpages are available with additional <br />information about upcoming meetings and chair and co-chair information. <br />City staff is collaborating with Nextdoor to revise their boundaries to match <br />the City's new Neighborhood Association map boundaries as well. <br />Building capacity of leaders in grassroots community building, connecting <br />with neighborhoods, bridging divides and communicating differences in a <br />respectful manner. <br />The City released an RFP to select a consultant to administer a biannual <br />community survey on satisfaction with city services and the City Council <br />S1 RAI t6It_ I N M/A i iv c� AND GOALS 2 1 P a g <br />
