Increase engagement with the City's faith based community <br />Introduce a new Neighborhood Watch model <br />Support Citywide National Night Out community events <br />Celebrate the City's sesquicentennial <br />Sub -Committee interviewed the top two firms. Given other priorities, a <br />survey is postponed to Fiscal Year 2018-19. <br />The City recently revised an email list of faith based community leaders to <br />assist with an outreach and engagement workshop scheduled for this <br />spring. City staff met with representatives to share City objectives including <br />transportation, affordable housing and supporting a small town fee and <br />seek partnership opportunities. <br />Redwood Shores, Farm Hill, Stambaugh Heller, and Blair Island <br />Neighborhood Associations have been introduced to the new model with <br />other Neighborhood Association presentations planned. <br />This past August, the City increased its outreach efforts to support a <br />citywide National Night Out effort. Over 400 Redwood City community <br />members participated in National Night Out events. The Redwood City Fire <br />and Police Departments both participated and supported the evening's <br />festivities connecting with six Neighborhood Associations and attending <br />their planned events. <br />The Sesquicentennial Committee, led by two co-chairs and over 20 <br />volunteers organized a speaker series, a 150th anniversary festival, an <br />anniversary magazine, a historic documentary showcasing Redwood City's <br />history, a photo contest, various events and much more to celebrate this <br />yearlong milestone. City staff from multiple departments assisted these <br />efforts. <br />Implement the Meet Your Neighbors grant, focused on connecting new Library staff has sent library cards to new community members as part of <br />residents to the Library <br />Publicize resources available to the City's immigrant community and <br />support their inclusion in civic life <br />this initiative. <br />A new immigrant resource guide is available online and in print (English and <br />Spanish) and was distributed to all City facilities to ensure the City contir D s <br />to be inclusive and welcoming to all segments of our community. In <br />addition, the City recently became a "Welcoming City", a national v <br />designation by Welcoming America, which honors communities that CD <br />embrace inclusiveness and mutual respect for everyone.
