COMMUNITY FOR ALL AGES <br />Celebrate the unique contributions that youth, seniors and residents of all ages and abilities bring to <br />our community and provide abundant opportunities for lifelong learning, healthy development, <br />physical activity and social connection. <br />GOALS UPDATE <br />Evaluate establishing a local minimum wage and engage the business <br />and local community around this initiative. <br />Expand recreation and community service programs for all ages with a <br />focus on welcoming, inclusiveness and diversity. <br />CA) <br />0 <br />City staff organized and supported communication and engagement efforts <br />including 14 stakeholder meetings and over 250 business visits. City staff <br />are developing recommendations working with the Finance and Audit <br />Council Subcommittee, for the City Council to consider on March 26. <br />City staff accomplished a number of items within this goal including: <br />• Launched a monthly Dame la mano/Hand In Hand program to <br />support developmentally disabled or delayed children and their <br />caregivers <br />• The "Early Learners" program is now offered in Spanish <br />• Implemented Social Service Office Hours at the Downtown Library <br />• Provided a drop-in conversation group at Fair Oaks for English <br />Language learners <br />• Offered Know Your Rights programs for those with immigration <br />questions <br />• Established Citizenship Corners at Downtown and Fair Oaks Library <br />• Brought community members together through the Meet Your <br />Neighbors program series <br />• Moved forward with the investment with the Magical Bridge <br />Playground for an all-inclusive playground <br />• Kainos offers art programs at the National Guard Infirmary <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVES AND GOALS 4 1 P a g e <br />
