Advance the City -YMCA partnership for a new Veterans Memorial <br />Senior Center and community center <br />Launch the grant -funded PULLooza (Pop Up Library Learning) project to <br />deliver mobile children's outreach activities through the custom "Pedal <br />Lit" bicycle trailer <br />Initiate food and nutrition programs in the community using the <br />library's "La Cocina de Libros" mobile demonstration kitchen <br />Complete the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) installations at the <br />Fair Oaks and Schaberg library branches <br />Plan for an interactive Pirate Ship art playground installation <br />• The Fair Oaks Community Center offers services and programs for <br />our immigrant community and homeless population <br />• The Current partnership with the YMCA supports senior fitness <br />programs <br />• City staff is currently piloting a senior Lyft transportation program <br />The Veterans Memorial Senior Center -YMCA Project is currently in the <br />master planning phase. The City and the Y are working with ELS <br />Architecture and Urban Design to lead this process and host a series of <br />community design meetings. Before final discussion at the City Council, <br />there will be additional opportunities in early 2018 for community members <br />to attend workshops and public meetings to provide input. The project <br />team is anticipating project design review at various City commission and <br />committee meetings in early 2018 and the City Council will consider various <br />actions on March 12 (Master Planning effort) and May 21. <br />Pedal Lit appeared at numerous community events such as the <br />Sesquicentennial Festival, PortFest, Kermes/Dia del Ninos, STEAMFest, and <br />Candy Cane Lane, and visited community partner programs such as America <br />Scores, Familias Unidas, and Taft School. <br />La Cocina appeared at numerous community events such as the <br />Sesquicentennial Festival, Kermes/Dia del Ninos, and STEAMFest, and <br />visited community partner programs such as America Scores, Familias <br />Unidas, and Taft School. <br />The ECLC installation will be completed at Fair Oaks Library, as part of the <br />current renovations and discussions are underway to have Schaberg's <br />installed at the same time. _ <br />Community engagement conducted assisted in site selection, and ~ <br />PRCS/Library will be holding additional public meetings in April to assist D <br />designing the park features surrounding the installation. v <br />CD <br />W <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVES AND GOALS 5 1 P a g e <br />
