Kirby <br />Interim Chief of Police <br />1301 Maple Street <br />Redwood City, CA 94063 <br />Telephone (650) 780-7122 <br />Fax Line (650) 780-7149 <br />Excepted from the obligation of Permittee under this paragraph are suits, actions, <br />or claims to the extent caused by the negligent or intentional tortious acts of the <br />City for City Services provided under this agreement. <br />Citv Services: The City agrees to provide the following: <br />(a) Routine police patrols during the event. <br />(b) Officers dedicated to traffic control during the event. <br />Items Provided by Permittee: <br />(a) Sufficient volunteers present at the locations indicated on the course <br />overview maps to safely monitor the routes and event closure areas. <br />(b) The Permittee will notify all businesses and residents along the routes and <br />within the affected event areas with sufficient time to allow for those <br />businesses and residents to accommodate the parking and traffic <br />restrictions associated with this event. <br />(c) Six (6) certified lifeguards on surfboards and /or in boats in Westpoint <br />Marina to monitor athletes on the swim course on March 4, 2018. <br />(d) Medical response / First Aid personnel immediately available to address <br />medical issues associated with this event. Medical response/First aid <br />personnel will have access to a vehicle to expedite transportation of an <br />EMT to an injured person. <br />(e) The Permittee will pay for the services of two (2) police department <br />employees for traffic control on Sunday, March 4, 2018. <br />The hourly rate for the sworn personnel is approximately $190.00 - <br />$275.00 per hour. It is anticipated the services of department personnel <br />will be needed for approximately seven (7) hours on March 4, 2018. <br />Should public safety demands exceed the capabilities of assigned police <br />personnel, additional police resources will be dedicated to this event. The <br />cost of additional police personnel shall also be paid by the Permittee. The <br />need for additional police resources shall be determined by a police <br />department supervisor or his/her designee and promptly communicated to <br />the on-site representative of Permittee. <br />
