Staff was also <br />encouraged to ensure that maintenance with performance standards is a part of <br />the sublease. <br />Public Comment: <br />Nita Spangler stated that for 3 years when she worked at the Redwood City <br />Tribune, she would do business at the post office every day and when it was <br />dedicated, James A. Farley was present. She stated that there is history to the <br />building and it has the flavor of a little post office emphasizing that the mural <br />showing cabbages and the cement plant must be handled carefully. She <br />expressed her hope that the decor not be modified much in order to preserve it as <br />is. <br />Recommendation: <br />M/S Bain /Howard to: <br />1. Approve the terms of the Outlease Agreement with U.S. Postal Service and <br />authorize the Redevelopment Manager to execute same subject to the hold <br />harmless provisions approval by Risk Manager; <br />2. Review, modify as appropriate, and approve the conceptual design for the <br />proposed improvements and authorize staff to proceed with the necessary <br />steps to finalize the design, prepare construction drawings and obtain bids to <br />be brought back for review and award by the Agency Board. <br />The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote.
