Fiscal Impact
Funds have been budgeted in the 2002-2003 Public Works Services operations
subprogram budget in the amount of $61,092 for streetlight and traffic signal supplies and
materials. This purchase for $37,796.20 covers the larger quantity supplies and materials
- such as street light and traffic signal lamps - anticipated for use during a typical fiscal
year. The remaining supplies and materials - items such as traffic signal and street light
poles - are used in less predictable quantities and bid for and purchased on an as-needed
basis. The purchase of these items with Consolidated Electric and the remaining items to
be purchased as needed during the fiscal year are in proportion with the subprogram
budget.

Staff will not initiate this purchase until the City Council has formally approved the 2002-
2003 budget. Should the pending appropriation be deleted from the 2002-2003 budget,
this purchase will not be executed and the associated street light and traffic signal work
will not be performed.

Gordon Mann Peter Ingram
Public Works Superintendent Public Works Sel'vices Director City Manager

Attachments
r~or~e
