Contractor shall label each Container with white, hot-stamped 2655 <br />lettering, and in-mold or heavy duty vinyl adhesive labels with graphics, illustrations, 2656 <br />or artwork that clearly conveys the type of materials (e.g., Solid Waste, Recyclable 2657 <br />Materials, cardboard, mixed paper, Organic Materials, wood waste, metal, etc.) to be 2658 <br />placed in the Container for Collection. The labeling shall be positioned on each 2659 <br />Container so it is visible to the Customer and Collection vehicle drivers on the front 2660 <br />side, and top. The labeling shall be durable and weather resistant to outdoor 2661 <br />conditions and have a minimum ten (10) year lifetime. 2662 <br />All Containers shall prominently display information and graphics agreed upon by 2663 <br />Agency, SBWMA, and Contractor pursuant to Article 7. 2664 <br />Final Container labeling layout, graphics, and text shall be approved by the Agency 2665 <br />and SBWMA prior to distribution to Customers. 2666 <br />D. Cleaning and Painting. Contractor shall be responsible for steam cleaning and 2667 <br />repainting all Containers, except Carts, to present an aesthetically pleasing clean 2668 <br />appearance and to ensure this equipment is safely maintained and operationally 2669 <br />sound. Contractor shall repaint all used Containers on an as needed basis. Upon 2670 <br />Customer’s request, Contractor shall steam clean all Solid Waste and Recyclable 2671 <br />Materials Containers (or exchange existing Containers with clean Containers) twice 2672 <br />annually, except Carts provided to Residential Premises, which Contractor is not 2673 <br />obligated to clean or exchange. Contractor shall clean all Organic Materials 2674 <br />Containers (or exchange existing Containers with clean Containers) quarterly, except 2675 <br />Carts provided to Residential Premises, which Contractor is not obligated to clean or 2676 <br />exchange. Contractor shall offer additional cleaning (or clean Container exchange) 2677 <br />to Customers requesting such service and Contractor shall bill Customers for such 2678 <br />cleaning (or Container exchange) at Agency-approved Charges specified in 2679 <br />Attachment Q. 2680 <br />Contractor shall be responsible for cleaning Containers at no additional charge to 2681 <br />Customer to ensure that nuisance or public health concerns associated with vectors 2682 <br />are addressed within two (2) Business Days after receipt of notification of said 2683 <br />condition. 2684 <br />If any Container is impacted by graffiti, Contractor shall remedy the situation within 2685 <br />forty-eight (48) hours of being notified. 2686 <br />E. Repair and Replacement. Contractor shall repair or replace all Containers damaged 2687 <br />by Collection operations (e.g., vehicle apparatus interface) or otherwise inoperable 2688 <br />(e.g., due to regular wear and tear) within three (3) Business Days of being notified 2689 <br />by Customer or observing the damaged Container. If the repair or replacement 2690 <br />cannot be completed within three (3) Business Days, the Contractor shall notify 2691 <br />Customer and provide a Container of the same size or larger until the original 2692 <br />Container can be replaced. 2693 <br />At no additional cost, Contractor shall replace Customer Carts that have been stolen, 2694 <br />lost, damaged, or destroyed within five (5) Business Days. Contractor shall allow 2695 <br />Customer to exchange Containers for a Container of a different size at no additional 2696 <br />cost and shall replace Containers within five (5) Business Days of Customer request. 2697 <br />The Contractor recognizes that the majority of Containers in service on the 2698 <br />Commencement Date have nearly reached the end of their useful life or will reach the 2699 <br />6.2.B. - Page 78
