The following fees reflect changes staff recommends to minimize impacts to
homeowners and small businesses, while still recovering costs, and to comply with
State regulations.

Fee Change
Additional address for ADU Currently, this falls under the category of New
Address which was intended for residential projects
larger than an ADU. Staff propose to create a new
category that aligns with the cost of providing this
service.
Garage Building Permit The permit varies in amount according to construction
valuation. Staff propose to make this a flat fee.
New addresses Staff propose to revise the current tiers from two tiers
to three to better recover costs related to level of
effort.
Small Planned Community
Permits
The current fee is a one-size-fits-all category for
Planned Community Permits. Staff recommends
another tier reflecting a lesser level of effort for
smaller applications.
Tiered building permits for ADUs The permit varies in amount according to construction
valuation. Staff propose tiered flat fees based on
square footage.
Photovoltaic solar system fees New fees to comply with Government Code 66015
relating to solar energy
Use Permit for Commercial
Child Care Centers
Staff revised the process from the original estimates
reducing the number of hours and thereby reducing
the cost
Use Permit (not requiring
technical studies)
Name change reflecting change in process

Proposed new fees that were identified subsequent to the May 2017 adoption:
· Additional plan set of approved plans
· Deferred plan review submittal
· Expedited plan review
8.B. - Page 3
