EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Safe Routes to School <br />'A fA WA <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES FOR WORKSHOPS: <br />Safe Moves will conduct at least 19 workshops for children and youth in grades 3rd _ $m <br />These workshops will be conducted in a game show format called Traffic Jeopardy with <br />the safety instructor as the game show host. This program component will engage the <br />students in active learning by challenging their critical thinking skills. Traffic Jeopardy <br />will cover traffic safety and environmental consequences of traffic congestion and <br />pollution. <br />The lesson plans for bicycle, pedestrian, vehicle passenger, and transit passenger will <br />be designed to be grade and age appropriate. All lesson plans will incorporate details <br />about the infrastructure in and around the school community and be sensitive to diverse <br />student populations. The following skills will be taught: <br />Pedestrian Safety: <br />• Explanation of safe places to walk <br />• Walking in traffic (no sidewalk present) <br />• Crossing streets safely <br />• Crossing intersections safely <br />• Parking lot safety <br />• Choosing a route to school/destinations <br />• Recognition of traffic signs and signals <br />• Recognizing basic traffic hazards <br />• Driver behaviors <br />• Avoidance of common causes of collisions <br />• Explanation of infrastructure <br />• Explanation of traffic laws/city ordinances <br />• Explanation of school traffic policies <br />• Explanation of dangers <br />Bicycle Safety: <br />• Explanation of safe places to bicycle (sidewalk, bike lanes, paths) <br />• Bicycling in traffic <br />• Crossing streets safely <br />• Crossing intersections safely <br />• Parking lot safety <br />REV: 11-16-17 RL <br />Page 10 of 12 <br />ATTY/AGR.2017.271/Safe Moves <br />
