<br />6. /F-/~ <br /> <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK PROGRAM <br />AND <br />BUSINESS INTERNSHIP TRAINING PLAN <br />(Unpaid trainees/students) <br /> <br />A. GENERAL INFORMATION <br /> <br />\ <br />Under the terms of this Agreement, the City of Redwood City agrees to serve as <br />a "Training Facility" to provide Internsh'ip placements for Redwood City <br />residents who are ROP students of Business Office Careers. The City and local <br />businesses will provide unpaid on-the-job training for approximately 10 students <br />of Business Office careers and Medical Adminiq;rative Assisting careers. An <br />additional 15 ROP students will benefit from increased access to training and <br />learning environment improvements. The purpose of this agreement is to <br />provide financial assistance to support the costs of providing the Internship <br />opportunities within offices of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />1. During the term of this Agreement, ROP plans to place students at Training <br />Facility for their clinical and/or field experience training period. <br /> <br />2. All instruction and training at the Training Facility shall be in accordance with <br />the training plan attached hereto as Exhibit A and made part hereof. <br /> <br />3. All instruction, learning, and field experience will be designed, fonnulated and <br />supervised by ROP, subject to the review of the San Mateo County Board of <br />Education. <br /> <br />4. To the extent practicable, the period of time for each student's training and <br />education at the Training Facility shall be mutually agreed to at least one (1) <br />month before the education program begins. <br /> <br />5. Training Facility shall participate with ROP in planning and implementing the <br />education of students. ROP shall exercise supervision over the students in their <br />activities at the Training Facility as appropriate to the site and consistent with <br />state law. <br /> <br />6. All ROP instructors shall hold a valid California teaching credential authorizing <br />the subject to be taught. <br /> <br />7. Both ROP and Training Facility agree not to discriminate against any student <br />because of race, color, creed, sex, age, physical handicap, sexual orientation, <br />country of origin, or marital or parental status. <br /> <br />8. In no event will Training Facility, its agents, or employees be responsible for <br />emergency or other medical care for students and/or faculty members of ROP <br />who become injured or ill at Training Facility. <br /> <br />11.15.05 <br /> <br />1 <br />
