<br />5. SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY <br /> <br />A. Recognition of Outstanding Commitment to the PAUFire Department Toy <br />and Book Drive <br /> <br />Honorees: Mitch Amaya, Joe Ira, and Darlene Woodson <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kohlmann stated that the Firefighters were recognizing folks who <br />displayed extraordinary commitment to the toy and book drive. <br />Firefighter/Paramedic Fournier explained the program and presented plaques to <br />the honorees. <br /> <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />Elizabeth Travers spoke of an an article in the newspaper about a negative mailing <br />sent to Redwood City residents from the Citizens for Better Government organization. <br />She stated that she found out from workers at the address that Dick Claire was the <br />resident at Alameda de las Pulgas. After viewing documents at the City Clerk's office, <br />she found that the only officer listed was Claire as President. She further stated that <br />this group speaking on behalf of responsible Redwood City residents is a <br />misrepresentation. In the Daily News and the documents themselves, the donors <br />were outside Redwood City developers and Building Trades representatives as well <br />as P.G. & E. and the printing company in Burlingame which donated $1,000.00 in <br />October of 2005. She stated that since Claire was directly involved in this developer <br />sponsored opposition to the two candidates who supported No on Q, she urged City <br />Council to ask Claire for his resignation. She asked that the Planning Commission <br />should be more representative of the community rather than a public "yes" body for <br />large developers. <br /> <br />Ralph Nobles, representing the Friends of Redwood City, stated that the organization <br />recognizes, acknowledges and accepts the will of the voters of Redwood City. He <br />offered sincere congratulations to the re-elected Council and pledged that the <br />organization would work to the best of its ability, constructively and positively with the <br />Council on matters for progress and the betterment of the people of Redwood City. <br /> <br />7. CITY COUNCIL RE-ORGANIZA TION <br /> <br />A.
