Deposit amount proposed to be increased: · Commercial New Construction Ordinance Authorizing Council to Approve Deferral of Fee Payments: · The proposed uncodified ordinance would allow the City Council to authorize a deferral of the payment of fees related to development projects if property owners enter a related agreement with the City. Such agreements will state that a certificate of occupancy will not be issued until fees are paid and will provide that the City may recover its enforcement and collection costs. · Deferrals granted would extend the time for payment until issuance of a certificate of occupancy. · This ordinance would not cover deferrals for payment of the Parks Impact Fee, which will continue to be granted pursuant to Section 18.258(C) of the municipal code. · The resolution attached to this staff report directs staff to add language about payment deferrals to all applicable fee schedules.
