<br />Proposed new fees that were identified subsequent to the May 2017 adoption: <br />· Additional plan set of approved plans <br />· Deferred plan review submittal <br />· Expedited plan review <br />· Fire and Life Safety Inspections <br />· Major or wholesale revision to original plans <br />· Operational Life Safety Permit Fees Based on Hazard <br />· Public notice <br />· Reactivation fee for expired permit <br />· Zoning verification letter <br /> <br />Fees proposed to be eliminated <br />· Mills Act 5-Year Inspection Fee: Although this will still require a minimal amount of <br />staff time, staff is proposing to eliminate this fee to further encourage the <br />rehabilitation of historic properties. <br /> <br />Deposit amount proposed to be increased: <br />· Commercial New Construction <br /> <br />Ordinance Authorizing Council to Approve Deferral of Fee Payments: <br />· The proposed uncodified ordinance would allow the City Council to authorize a <br />deferral of the payment of fees related to development projects if property owners <br />enter a related agreement with the City. Such agreements will state that a <br />certificate of occupancy will not be issued until fees are paid and will provide that <br />the City may recover its enforcement and collection costs. <br />· Deferrals granted would extend the time for payment until issuance of a certificate <br />of occupancy. <br />· This ordinance would not cover deferrals for payment of the Parks Impact Fee, <br />which will continue to be granted pursuant to Section 18.258(C) of the municipal <br />code. <br />· The resolution attached to this staff report directs staff to add language about <br />payment deferrals to all applicable fee schedules. <br /> <br />Municipal Code Amendment to Allow for Expanded Cost Recovery for Code <br />Enforcement: <br />· Section 1.20.8 of the municipal code authorizes an administrative hearing officer <br />to assess administrative costs against a violator when she/he determines that a <br />7.A. - Page 4
