by the Redwood City Fire Department's designated point of contact. <br />G. Storage Requirements <br />All PPE in the possession of ECMS for service shall be stored per the most current <br />version of NFPA 1851 <br />H. PPE Retirement and Disposition Requirements <br />ECMS shall provide a Retirement Program, compliant with the most current version of <br />NFPA 1851. <br />1) Elements shall be returned/removed from service when: <br />a) Repairs cannot return the ensemble or ensemble element to a safe and usable <br />condition <br />b) The ensemble or ensemble element has exceeded its useful life <br />c) The repairs exceed the amounts identified in Repair Requirements <br />d) The element exceeds 10 years of age based on the date of manufacture <br />2) Upon receiving a recommendation for retirement, the element(s) shall be stored at <br />ECMS. Until a designated department representative has had the opportunity to review <br />and sign the "Return to contracting agency Report" paperwork/electronic <br />communications (email). <br />3) For elements that are recommended to be retired, ECMS shall: <br />a) Mark the applicable element with a tag, indicating "REMOVE FROM SERVICE <br />WARNING" <br />b) Attach with the documentation, a report indicating why the element is recommended <br />for retirement <br />c) Retirement report shall also indicate if element can be used for non -fire training <br />d) Return or dispose of the items, as per instructions from the Department <br />e) Allow a third party, at contracting agency request, to inspect all ensemble and <br />ensemble elements recommended for retirement. <br />Return Requirements and Documentation <br />All ensemble elements shall be placed in a clear protective bag and returned to the <br />Department. Each bag shall also have a label affixed providing the following <br />information: <br />1) Item <br />2) Size <br />3) Department Name <br />4) Fire Fighter Name <br />5) Date of Service <br />Pricing <br />Redwood City Fire Department and each member will cost $139.50 per the ECMS <br />contract which includes one annual inspection and one annual cleaning for one set of <br />gear per firefighter, two additional turnout cleanings and any minor repairs which are <br />listed in ECMS price list as minor repairs for structural PPE only.
