REPORT To the Honorable Mayor and City Council From the City Manager May 7, 2018 SUBJECT Consider approving an Addendum to the General Plan Environmental Impact Report and introducing an Ordinance establishing the Mixed Use Waterfront Zoning District to the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance and Consider Certifying a Final Environmental Impact Report and Adopting Findings of Fact and a Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program and the Request by Strada Investment for a Zoning Map Amendment, a Development Agreement, a Planned Development Permit (PD2014-03) and Condominium Permit, Tentative Map (TM2014-12), Architectural Permit (AP201X-000), and Sign Permit (SP2014-34), for the development of 131 residential townhomes at 1548 Maple Street RECOMMENDATION 1. Adopt the Resolution Approving an Addendum to the General Plan Environmental Impact Report; 2. Introduce an Ordinance establishing the Mixed Use Waterfront Zoning District to the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance; 3. Adopt the Resolution Certifying the Final Environmental Impact Report and Adopting Findings of Fact and a Mitigaiton Monitoring and Reporting Program; 4. Introduce an Ordinance amending the Zoning Map to rezone the site Mixed Use Waterfront; 5. Introduce an Ordinance Approving a Development Agreement; and 6. Adopt the Resolution Approving the Project Permits, including the Planned Development Permit (PD2014-03) and Condominium Permit; the Tentative Map (TM2014-12); the Architectural Permit, and the Sign Permit (SP2014-34) Staff’s recommendation is based on the findings listed in the proposed ordinances and resolutions and subject to the conditions of approval listed therein BACKGROUND The project site is located at 1548 Maple Street, between Maple Street and the Redwood Creek. Surrounding land uses include the Docktown Marina, Life Moves Maple Street Shelter, Redwood City Police Station, the Bair Island Aquatic Center (BIAC) and vacant City-owned 7.A. - Page 1
