inspection costs for construction delays caused by contractor. The project has been <br />completed in accordance with the plans and specifications for a total cost of <br />$2,043,112.96 which is 0.21% more than the original bid amount. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to accept the project or authorize the release of bonds and <br />retention; however, this would be contrary to the terms of the contract, prior Council <br />action, and public contracting code. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for the general work of this project were approved and appropriated in the Fiscal <br />Year 2016/2017 budget as Water Fund Capital Projects – Distribution System <br />Replacement Program which had an available balance of $19,255.71 as of March 31st, <br />2018. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />As the lead agency, City of Redwood City determined that the 2016-2017 Watermain <br />Replacement Project – Phase I meets the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />exemption criteria as set forth in Section 15302(C) (replacement or reconstruction of <br />existing utility system and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity). <br />A notice of Exemption was filed with the office of San Mateo County on May 3, 2017. <br />Furthermore, this project was designed compliant with the City’s Engineering Standards <br />and currently accepted practices. <br /> <br />This project did not require a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) <br />General Permit for stormwater discharges associated with construction and land <br />disturbances activities pursuant to Attachment A.2 of Order 2010-0014-DWQ which <br />exempts projects to update existing lines and facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />PATRICK LABRUZZO <br />CIVIL ENGINEER <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6.2.B. - Page 2
