<br />DES:dft '7/07/90 (084/27) <br /> <br />"4. FEE SCHEDULE. (a) Fee for Initial Study, Negative <br />Declaration. For any proposed project defined in paragraph <br />2(r) (i) (3) hereof, which is not subject to a categorical or <br />emergency exemption, an applicant shall pay a non-refundable <br />fee of $1,500 for an initial study to determine whether the <br />proposed project may have a significant effect on the <br />environment. In the event it is determined that a notice of <br />exemption shall be filed, a fee of $100 shall be paid <br />therefore. In the event it is determined that a negative <br />declaration is required for the project, no additional fees <br />shall be assessed unless such declaration is to be prepared <br />by a consultant (see paragraph 4(c) below). In the event it <br />is determined that an environmental impact report is <br />required for the project, the fee specified in paragraph <br />4 (b) hereof shall be assessed. The fee specified in this <br />paragraph 4 (a) shall be paid at the time the applicant <br />applies to the City for the issuance of the lease, permit, <br />license, certificate, or other entitlement for use involved <br />with the proposed project. <br /> <br />n(b) Fee for Preparation of Environmental Impact <br />Report." For a project which requires the preparation of an <br />environmental impact report, an applicant shall pay the <br />actual cost of preparation thereof as hereinafter provided. <br />Upon determining that an environmental impact report is <br />required for a project, the Planning Director shall <br />calculate the estimated cost of the preparation of such <br />report based upon a rate of $18 per hour for the time <br />consumed in such preparation, from the commencement of work <br />to the completion of the final environmental impact report, <br />by any City employee or employees. Upon notification of the <br />estimated cost of preparation of an environmental impact <br />report, and prior to commencement of work thereon, the <br />applicant shall pay to the City the total sum so calculated. <br />In the event the actual cost as determined upon completion <br />of the final environmental impact report exceeds the sum so <br />deposited, the applicant shall pay the difference upon <br />notification thereof by the City, and in the event said <br />final cost is less than the amount so deposited, the City <br />shall remit to the applicant the different between said <br />final cost and the amount deposited. <br /> <br />n(c) Fee for Preparation by Consultant, Administration <br />Fee.n In the event a negative declaration or environmental <br />impact report is to be prepared by a consultant pursuant to <br />the provisions of paragraph 7 (b) (2), or paragraph 7 (c) (3) , <br />below, the applicant shall pay to the City the total <br />estimated sum for the preparation of such declaration or <br />report prior to the award of the agreement by the City to <br />the consultant. In the event the actual amount to be paid by <br />the City pursuant to such agreement exceeds the sum so <br />deposited, the applicant shall pay the difference upon <br />notification thereof by the City, and in the event said <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />11334 <br />
