Mr. Parviz Mokhtari
Mr. Jon Lynch
Cordilleras Creek Studies
November 22, 2005

SCOPE OF SERVICE

Task 1.

Collect Data

BKF will collect infonnation to identify constraints. The City-wide GIS
survey infonnation developed by Towell will be used as background. BKF
will meet once with the Cities to detennine key concerns and establish the
design criteria. BKF will provide field measurements of the approximate
Creek flow line and flow width at the flow line.

Task 2.

Site Survey

No site survey is proposed as a part ofthis work. BKF will utilize available
survey infonnation, including the GIS maps, surveyed cross sections from
previous Creek studies, and the field measurements from Task 1.

Task 3.

Sediment Volumes

BKF will evaluate sediment to be removed from the various reaches of the
Creek. The proposed flow line will be taken from Figure 02P of the City of
San Carlos Flood Insurance Study dated September 1977.

Task 4.

Maintenance Specifications

BKF will prepare maintenance specifications for removal of sediment from
the Creek during the period from April 15 to October 1. BKF will discuss
alternatives with contractors and will meet at the site with two contractors to
have alternative biddable concepts for Creek clearing.

Task 5.

Preliminary Pennitting Review

BKF will contact environmental agencies to obtain preliminary input on Creek
sediment removal constraints, including the selected concepts.

Task 6.

Permit-Level Construction Documents

BKF will prepare permit-level Construction Documents for the removal of
sediment from the channel bottom suitable for use in obtaining a maintenance
permit.
