NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. This Council does hereby request the Atomic Energy Com- <br />mission to comply with the abovementioned ordinance of the Town <br />of Woodside and require underground installation of the power <br />transmission line to serve the Stanford Linear Accelerator. <br />2. Should Pacific Gas and Electric Company continue to <br />refuse to construct the underground line except at rates for power <br />which are deemed unjustifiable by the Atomic Energy Commission, <br />this Council should, and does hereby, request the Public Utilities <br />Commission of the State of California to require the Stanford <br />Linear Accelerator line to be installed underground, and to <br />establish rates to be charged the Atomic Energy Commission which <br />shall be fair and reasonable. <br />3. The Mayor is hereby directed to transmit a certified <br />copy of this resolution to Dr. Glenn Seaborg of the Atomic Energy <br />Commission, and to each member of the Joint Committee on Atomic <br />Energy of the Congress of the United States. <br />- 2 - <br />
