San Mateo (city)
The San Mateo City Council in March 2018 adopted an urgency 90 day moratorium on specified rental projects that decline
to voluntarily participate in the city's 15 percent inclusionary housing program. Unlike other communities, San Mateo
voters passed a measure in 2004 that mandated the construction of affordable units on-site and largely barred the
collection of in -lieu fees. BIA objected to the moratorium but the city proceeded.
