<br />EXHIBIT "e" <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />CHILDCARE LEADER <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To implement a city administered child care program, interact with and <br />supervise school-aged child care participants. <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br /> <br />This classification is distinguished from other recreational positions by <br />the specific duties and requirements of an Aide in a state licenced <br />childcare facility. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Direct supervision provided by Childcare Director or Childcare Assistant <br />Director. <br /> <br />General supervision is received from the Recreation Center Supervisor. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to the <br />following: <br /> <br />Assist and supervise children in activities such as crafts, games, free <br />play and homework. <br /> <br />Help with preparation of materials and clean up of facilities. <br /> <br />Perform other tasks as assigned. <br /> <br />QUALI F I CATIONS <br />Knowledge of: <br />Childcare programming principles and procedures. <br />Abil ity to: <br />Implement a school-aged childcare program. <br />Supervise and discipline school-aged children. <br />Work cooperatively with department staff. <br /> <br />Communicate effectively orally. <br /> <br />Physical Characteristics <br /> <br />Must be physically capable of performing the essential job functions of the <br />classification. <br /> <br />11290 <br /> <br />I I..J _ 'U' <br />
