EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Project: Veteran's Memorial Senior's Center & YMCA
Red Morton Park, Redwood City, C4
Agreement: Cleary Consultants Inc. —Geotechnical & Geohazard Investigation
The project site will accommodate the construction of two newtwo-story buildings with building
footprints approximately 29,400 SF for the Seniors Center and 32,200 SF for the YMCA,
occupying a portion of Red Morton Park in Redwood City.
other improvements include swimming pools, asphalt pedestrian and vehicular pavements,
concrete sidewalks, underground utilities and landscaping areas.
As a basis for this agreement the consultant has reviewed the schematic site/floor plans
prepared by ELS architects dated January 19, 2018.
A. Geotechnical Investigation
The geotechnical investigation will consist of thefollowing:
Review available geotechnical information for thearea.
2. Site reconnaissance to mark the locations of the borings for Underground
Service Alert.
3. Field subsurface exploration - under the direction of an engineer who will
supervise, log and sample the drilling of exploratory borings in the vicinity of the
planned new building. The borings will be drilled using a truck -mounted drill rig
equipped with hollow stem augers to depths of 15 to 45 feet, or practical drilling
refusal.
Soil sampling and Standard Penetration Resistance testing will be performed
continuously in the upper six feet of the borings (four drives) and at five foot
intervals, or changes in material type, thereafter starting at eight and one-half feet.
The soil Samples will be transported to a laboratory for further examination and
testing.
The water level in the borings (if encountered) will be measured prior to
backfilling the holes at the completion ofdrilling.
The borings to be backfilled with cement grout and patched with cold patch
asphalt/or dry mix concrete for those borings drilled in existing pavement or
flatworkareas. Soil tailings generated during the drilling process will be removed
from the site.
4. Laboratorytesting of boring samples: These tests will include moisture content,
dry density, shear strength, percent finer than #200 sieve, R -value, corrosion
and plasticity index determinations, as appropriate.
5. Engineering analvsis of the field and laboratorydata.
REV: 05-02-18 15
ATTY/AGR.2018.093/Cleary Consultants, Inc.
