'"

Brian Lee, City of Redwood City
Construction Support Scope
November 17,2009
Page 2

3. Contract Close-Out

This task includes reviewing the post-dredge survey and final quantity estimates prepared
by the contractor, attending the final jobwalk meeting, reviewing final punch lists, and
reviewing the inspector's Final Inspection Report.

~~~~
Fee & Schedule
The estimated fee for the work is shown on the attached spreadsheet. M&N proposes to
invoice for time and materials expended, on a monthly basis, based on our standard rate
schedule as attached.
This would be a request for Amendment 3 to our contract - dredging projects, particularly
specialized projects such as lagoon dredging, are becoming increasingly difficult to implement
and permit due to the nature of the work. It is also very difficult to estimate design and
engineering costs for such projects at the onset because a lot depends on sediment quality
and disposal locations. Of interest is the fact that with the requested modification, our total
contracted fee to date which includes preparing bid documents, coordinating sediment
sampling, providing permit support, and providing construction support will total less than
about $110,000.
Thank you for the opportunity to offer our services on this project, and we look forward to
continuing to support you and the City on this dredging project. Should you have any
questions, please contact me or Jack Fink at your convenience
Sincerely,
MOFFATT & NICHOL
"'"
Dilip Trivedi, Dr.Eng., P.E.
Principal I Project Manager
D:\BLee-Amend No. 3_11-17-09.doc
