<br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING RATES OF CHARGES FOR SANITARY INSPECTIONS, <br />COLLECTIONS, RECYCLING AND REMOVAL OF REFUSE IN THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin Nos. 45-2005, 46-2005 and 47-2005. Council may direct <br />staff to act on positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus available in City Clerk's Department.) <br /> <br />B. Vice Mayor Foust - announced a meeting on January 10 at 6:00 p.m. in the <br />Fellowship Hall of Grace Bible Church (corner of Euclid and McGarvey) that <br />concerns the traffic issues on McGarvey Avenue. The announcement will be <br />posted on the City website: www.redwoodcity.org. <br /> <br />C. Mayor Pierce - stated that the Fair Oaks Library will be holding the Gran Posada <br />on Wednesday, December 21 from 4-8 p.m. There will be a free family photo with <br />Santa and an annual candlelight procession will take place. There will be arts and <br />crafts, children's' story time, live music and a piñata. <br /> <br />D. Council Member Hartnett - spoke of the Stanford Hospital acquisition of the <br />@Home site that was brought up by speakers under Oral Communications. He <br />stated that the site was developed by Ampex in the 1950's and has been at least <br />since then an office park and anyone could move in there and continue with similar <br />use. He further stated that there should not be an expectation from the public that <br />the site will revert to an empty space and that there has been substantial <br />community discussion on the topic of Stanford Hospital at that site. Consideration <br />of some principles for hospital industry services in the community should be a topic <br />of discussion in the future.
