<br />7/ //-.,e <br /> <br />The system is a neutral, accurate and credible information source and is designed to <br />provide on-demand survey data, benefits, settlement and bargaining unit information, <br />MOUs, pay plans and classification research to the member agencies. In addition, <br />membership includes unlimited access to the BAERS' library of hard copy documents as <br />well as on-going user support. <br /> <br />Staff recommends entering into a membership agreement with the BAERS JPA for the <br />remainder of the 05/06 fiscal year. Attachment A represents the full membership <br />agreement between the City and the BAERS jpA. If approved, the Human Resources <br />Director will serve on the Board of Directors of BAERS and ensure the City's needs are <br />met by the JPA. In future years, membership fees will be requested as part of the City's <br />normal budget process. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />The alternative would be to continue to use in-house staff and outside consultants for these <br />tasks. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The cost of the membership agreement is $5111.79 for fiscal year 05/06. This represents <br />a 5/12 pro-rated fee.
