Park and Recreation Commission Page 2 <br />Minutes of November 30, 2005 <br /> <br />Director Centeno said that staff is looking at formalizing the process of <br />working with the community on the development of park renovation plans. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 – ELECTION OF OFFICERS <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Morton announced that he will not be reapplying when his <br />term expires in 2006 and Commissioner Swope is unsure if she will be <br />reapplying. <br /> <br />Chairperson Yapp asked for nominations for Chairperson and Vice <br />Chairperson for 2006. Commissioner Truscelli nominated Commissioner <br />White. Commissioner Joseph nominated Commissioner Slusser. <br />Commissioner White asked that his name be withdrawn for consideration as <br />chairperson. The nominations were closed for chairperson. <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope nominated Commissioner White as vice chairperson. <br />The nominations were closed for vice chairperson. <br /> <br />M/S Swope/Truscelli: To accept the slate of officers as proposed. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />Director Centeno announced that newly elected Chairperson Slusser and Vice <br />Chairperson White will assume their offices in January 2006. <br /> <br />ITEM 3 – ANNUAL REPORT DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Director Centeno provided a draft copy of the Annual Report to the <br />Commissioners at the October meeting and asked for comments/suggestions <br />to the document. The Commissioners reviewed the document and provided <br />important feedback on the document. <br /> <br />Comments included: <br /> <br />Core Values <br />? <br />Indent subprogram names, use different font to distinguish between <br /> <br />Division name <br />? <br />Under Special Interest, use “current demand” vs. on trend <br /> <br />? <br />Note significant accomplishments even with staff cuts, we were about <br /> <br />to maintain the same customer service levels <br />? <br />Introduce highlights page, “This year at a glance” <br /> <br />? <br />One page is good, but Bob Slusser will get back to you <br /> <br />? <br />List previous year FTE levels to see the change <br /> <br />? <br />Talk about reducing service levels and employees <br /> <br />? <br />Make positive notes <br /> <br />? <br />Want to see customer ratings on our parks (from patrons like user <br /> <br />sports groups) and Recreation Division, just like building, custodial, <br />parks <br /> <br />
