amend the General Plan designation of the parcels to mixed -use. Lyon <br />clarified that this evening's vote was simply to change designation, and that <br />any subsequent development on the site must go through the Planning <br />process (permits, A.R.C. review, etc.). Lyon also remarked that the maps <br />provided in the Council Packet were generated by using the GIS system. <br />Council asked questions surrounding the nine parcels going down to two or <br />three, and Lyon verified that this was correct. <br />Mayor Ira opened the Public Hearing. There was no public comment. <br />M/S Bain /Foust to close the public hearing. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote by those present. <br />Council comments included Council Member Foust commending Planning <br />Staff for this solution and noting that Wegman's was a 40- year -old business <br />and a good community asset. Foust remarked that the conclusion is to <br />improve the property and make it more conducive to the community. <br />Recommendation: <br />M/S Foust/Bain that the City Council accept the Planning Commission and staff <br />recommendations to amend the General Plan designation and Zoning Map for <br />the 1.49 acre project area based on a review of the staff report, administrative <br />record and public testimony find that: <br />That the City Council introduce an Ordinance Amending Article 60, Zoning <br />Map 8 of Ordinance No. 1130 to Rezone Properties Generally Located at <br />Woodside Road, Hess Road and Lucerne Avenue from General Commercial <br />or Multi - Family Medium Residential Districts to General Commercial - <br />Residential District. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AMENDING ARTICLE 60, ZONING MAP NO. 8 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1130, OF <br />THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED, TO REZONE <br />PROPERTIES GENERALLY LOCATED AT WOODSIDE ROAD, HESS ROAD AND <br />LUCERNE AVENUE, AS FURTHER DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE, FROM <br />THE GENERAL COMMERCIAL ( "CG ") DISTRICT OR THE MULTI - FAMILY MEDIUM <br />DENSITY ( "R-4 ") DISTRICT TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL RESIDENTIAL ( "CG -R ") <br />DISTRICT (603) MINUTE ORDER 05 -230 <br />2.
