<br />/Ø-~ <br /> <br />Given Redwood City's statistics and the strong collaborative infrastructure provided by <br />Redwood City 2020, Redwood City was chosen as one of two pilot sites for Differential <br />Response by the County of San Mateo - Human Services Agency. The other pilot site <br />is Daly City. <br /> <br />Through these pilot programs, the County of San Mateo - Human Services Agency <br />hopes to learn how to effectively coordinate with community partners to deliver <br />voluntary, community-based services. The County of San Mateo - Human Services <br />Agency will move forward with full County implementation in late 2006. <br /> <br />The City of Redwood City through Redwood City 2020 will coordinate and take a <br />leadership role in ongoing city-wide coordination, and will coordinate all Differential <br />Response activities in Redwood City as well as connect it with other community <br />initiatives. <br /> <br />The City of Redwood City through Redwood City 2020 will be responsible for working <br />with its primary sub-contractor, Youth and Family Enrichment Services, to hire and <br />oversee four Case Managers who will partner with Human Services Agency Child <br />Welfare Social Workers. Youth and Family Enrichment Services is already a <br />subcontract of Redwood City 2020 for the youth development and home visiting <br />services. The Differential Response services will enable Redwood City 2020 to expand <br />services to non-Family Center campuses and increase services to Sequoia High <br />School. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />The Council may choose not to enter into this Agreement. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funding for the program has been granted by the County of San Mateo - Human <br />Services Agency to cover the cost of this Agreement. No City funds will be used for this <br />effort.
