Of all lower income households paying more than 30%, small <br />related households are more impacted than other kinds of households. This could be because these <br />households may have only one person earning an income, say, a single parent with two small children. <br />Elderly extremely low income owners also experience a high rate of cost burden, many of whom are on <br />fixed incomes. However, overall the greatest impacts are on renter households. <br />4. Of all lower-income renter households paying over 50%, small <br />related households make up 38%. In fact, the greatest number of households with this housing problem <br />are small related households, regardless of tenure type. And, as can be expected, this problem is felt <br />most acutely by extremely low income renter households. Of all elderly households, owners represent <br />37% of households that are overpaying. <br />5.
