06/25/2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15683 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE <br />COUNTY OF SAN MATEO CONSOLIDATE A GENERAL MUNICIPAL <br />ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2018, WITH <br />THE CONSOLIDATED MUNICIPAL, SCHOOL AND SPECIAL DISTRICT <br />ELECTION; AND REQUESTING COUNTY TO RENDER SPECIFIED <br />SERVICES TO CITY; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO <br />EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE COUNTY FOR SUCH SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City called a General <br />Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the purpose of the <br />electing of three (3) full time Members of the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the General Municipal Election be consolidated <br />with the Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election to be held on the <br />same date and that within the City the precincts, polling places and election officers of <br />the two elections be the same, and that the county election department of the County of <br />San Mateo canvass the returns of the General Municipal Election and that the election <br />be held in all respects as if there were only one election; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to perform such service, the County requires that the City <br />enter into a contract specifying the services to be performed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That pursuant to the requirements of California Elections Code § 10403, the <br />Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo is hereby requested to consent and <br />agree to the consolidation of a General Municipal Election with the Consolidated <br />Municipal, School and Special District election on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the <br />purpose of electing of three (3) City Council Members for the term of office of four years <br />each; and that the County Election Department is requested to render services to the <br />City related to the conduct of the election. <br />2. That the consolidated election will be held and conducted in the manner <br />prescribed in California Elections Code § 10418. <br />3.
