I am concerned about the rising gang violence,
not only for the obvious safety reasons but because that is a signal that there are too many
young people who are not vested in the future of their communitys or their own personal future.
At this time I am too busy working on parenting my own children too work on this issue but I
grew up in a city where the gang violence was really bad and I don't want to see that happen
here.

Better and more equitable education

The downtown theater project

seniors issues

At present I am most frustrated by the fact that active and engaged young families, such as my
own, with two working adults cannot afford to buy a house in Redwood City. I work in Redwood
City, live in Redwood City, have children in the Redwood City Schools, hope to one day have a
small business in Redwood City, have actively campaigned for current Council members and
wou Id be among the first to praise this as an outstanding place to live... but I rent a home here
and cannot afford to set roots for my family to stay here.

Community Building. Getting to know one another like old time Americana.

I want to build strong neighborhoods with a sense of community and inter-dependence. I am
thinking of units smaller than the typical neighborhood associations which might include 5000
adults yet have only 20 or 30 attend meetings. I want to organize community block by block.
Such relationships would go far to decrease crime (especially juvenile crime), solve squabbles
without city or police intervention, result in self-help on minor issues without pleading with the
city for help, and most importantly raise the sense of satisfaction and security about living in our
community.

Affordable housing

I am interested in putting my experience and talent to work in a usefull way. I have attended
meetings of the Port Commission, Parks& Recreation Commission and Senior Commission. I have
something to add to each. My past education including a MPA and my experience as an Engineer
have not been put to use as yet.

Population growth!!!!!

Downtown development.

I love our RWC Library, which I regard as a highly successful example of socialist principles. We
all support it, and it's there for everyone to enjoy and receive the benefits from.

Developing community gardens in the City

Youth involvement

Making Redwood City a stronger community and a more vibrant place to live

diversity / equal opportunity / minority engagement in civics

Downtown development
Community/Neighborhood saftey and cleanliness

Page 30

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled] .

[Disabled]

[Disabled] .

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled]

[Disabled}
