Cultural Commission Strategic Plan - The Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services department is implementing the Cultural Commission Strategic Plan, <br />which emphasizes support to Downtown, arts and music education in the schools, <br />and support of community building activities. <br />b. Library Cultural Programs - The Library strives to be the cultural center of the <br />community by offering a plentiful variety of programs for all ages. The <br />Downtown library has increased the number of programs for all ages, from <br />"toddlers to teens to tea-totalers." This includes the number of Saturday programs <br />for fathers and their children and which have included storytelling, magicians, <br />puppeteers, musicians, nature programs and authors. The Library has partnered <br />with Villa Montalvo, the Fox Theater and the Redwood City School District for <br />the First Annual Youth Poetry Contest.
