Council Member Howard stated that her interest in bringing these items before
Council was to discuss whether further correspondence to legislators would be
helpful. AB 680 at this time, is still in legislation and discussion ensued as to
whether to send additional letters or make telephone calls.

Public Comment:
Bob Baldwin asked if letters are generated that it be included in the form of a
press release so that the State authorities would see it in the press.

Consensus by Council was to write additional letters. MINUTE ORDER 02-205

iii) Consider Rescheduling Council meeting of August 12 to August 19.

Mayor Claire stated that he would be unavailable for the August 12 meeting and
polled Council to decide whether the second Council meeting in August should be
held on August 12 or 19. Consensus was to poll the absent Council Members and
hold the meeting on August 12 if he is the only one scheduled to be absent.

iv) Council Member Jordan referred to correspondence received from a resident
on Harbor Court relative to recycled water. The letters reference damaging
effects from recycled water use on landscaping and plant life. The resident
submitted a report to the City and has circulated a petition in her neighborhood
that found more than half of the neighborhood opposes the use of recycled
water. Council Member Jordan requested that the report be shared with all
Council Members and seek specialists on the topic to participate in the
discussion.

Consensus by Council was to discuss and consider scheduling a public
meeting at a Redwood Shores site on this subject.

'I3.CLOSED SESSION - No action to report.

14.ADJOURNMENT - 9:07 p.m.

M/S Hartnett/Jordan to adjourn to the regular meeting of July 22, 2002 in honor of City
Manager Ed Everett's father who passed away on July 14.
