3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - (Diane Howard, Council Member) <br /> <br />4. INVOCATION - Dennis Logie, Pastor (Sequoia Christian Church) <br /> <br />5. SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY- None <br /> <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br /> Jane Steward stated she is a Peninsula Marina tenant pleading to retain affordable housing in <br /> the City. She requested the City Council and Planning Commission to condition removal of <br /> housing with replacement housing. <br /> <br /> Mayor Ruskin stated that the groundwork for mediation on the Peninsula Marina was being set. <br /> <br /> Pina Truscelli invited the community to the 66th American Legion Outstanding Citizen of the <br /> Year banquet on March 2, 2001. The second event she announced was the Native Daughters' <br /> tree planting event on March 10, 2001 at the Veterans Senior Center. <br /> <br /> Karen Sparks Burgess spoke of the fact that it appears to be legally mandatory for the City to be <br /> present in the mediation process. <br /> <br /> Mayor Ruskin expressed the Council's concern and need to remain out of a private property <br /> issue. <br /> <br /> Rudy Luca spoke of affordable housing and questioned what the City is doing about the <br /> subject. <br /> <br />7. CONSENT CALENDAR- None <br /> <br /> Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City Council and are enacted <br /> by one motion and one vote. There is no separate discussion of these items unless a Council <br /> Member or Citizen so requests, in which event the item is removed from the consent calendar <br /> and considered in its normal sequence on the agenda. <br /> <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST- None <br /> <br />9.
