Box 119 Redwood City, CA 94064-0119 Re: Special Legal Counsel Services Dear Councilmembers: This letter responds to the request of the Council's Legal Services Committee for a proposal to provide limited special legal counsel services to the City of Redwood City upon expiration of my current Agreement with the City as City Attorney, which was extended through and including July 31, 2001. When signed and attested on behalf of the City, this letter will serve as an agreement for the particular services described below, commencing August 1,2001. The services shall be provided to conclusion of the cases or other subject matters, or until the City Attorney determines that he/she shall assume responsibility for them. Status reports shall be made periodically to the City Council and the City Attorney. The City shall make available such files, records and other information that is reasonably necessary for accomplishment of the tasks involved with the services. However, I shall take possession of such existing files that I have opened or maintained as City Attorney for the cases or other subjects; provided, that they shall be returned to the City upon closure of the cases or completion of the tasks to which they pertain, or upon assumption of the cases or matters by the City Attorney. Services will be billed at the rate of $200 per hour, subject to adjustment. Invoices will be submitted monthly, and shall be payable within 30 days of billing. The particular cases/matters to which this agreement pertains are: 1.
