Council could direct staff to increase Engineering and Construction staffing. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Short-term positive impacts may include some cost savings, and experience <br />gained and retained from direct management of the construction work. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Short and long-term negative impacts may include the uncertainty in enlisting <br />equally qualified construction management professionals for a construction <br />project of this size and complexity; and the need to sustain this additional <br />permanent staffing budget, once the project is completed. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The Water Financing Plan - 2006 Update was approved by the City Council on January <br />23, 2006, concurrent with the Council's authorization to issue a second series of Water <br />Revenue Bonds to finance the construction of Phase One of the Recycled Water <br />Project. Bond proceeds in the estimated amount of $23,500,000 will be deposited into <br />the project trustee account in the first week of March, 2006.
