<br />6.3A <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.1 TO THE <br />CONTRIBUTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR <br />HIGHWAY 101 BICYCLE PATH-RECYCLED WATER <br />TRANSMISSION LINE COST SHARE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of an overall lane widening project, the State of California <br /> <br />Department of Transportation (CaITrans) plans to construct a bicycle path adjacent to <br /> <br />Highway 101 between the Whipple Avenue on-ramp and Sky Way frontage road; and <br />WHEREAS, CalTrans has agreed to include, as part of the project, the <br /> <br />installation of a City twenty-four inch recycled water transmission line under the bike <br /> <br />path; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 28, 2002, the City Council authorized staff to work with <br />consultants, CalTrans and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority to conduct a <br /> <br />pre-design study of the proposed transmission line and to develop a checklist of all of <br /> <br />technical requirements, permits, constraints and potential costs associated with the <br /> <br />work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on March 11, 2002, the City Council approved an agreement <br /> <br />authorizing Kennedy/Jenks Consultants to design the recycled water pipeline alignment <br /> <br />and to prepare construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates and to provide <br /> <br />support services during bidding; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 3, 2002, the City Council approved the Contribution <br /> <br />Agreement with the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and <br /> <br />authorized the City Manager to enter into the Contribution Agreement ("Agreement") for <br /> <br />F:Atty/Reso/Reso.1592 <br />013106 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />, ,- .---- --", <br /> <br />-----' ,-"..,- ' .--,...------".---"""".--------".-- <br />
