(303) MINUTE ORDER 06 -09 <br />7.4 Section — Ordinances — (First Readings /Introduction) <br />A. Ordinance granting a non - exclusive Cable System Franchise Agreement to <br />Comcast of California IX, Inc. with an effective date of March 1, 2006. <br />Vice Mayor Foust stated that this agreement has been in negotiation with the City <br />and the 7 other agencies comprising the San Mateo County Telecommunications <br />Authority (SAMCAT) over the last 18 -24 months. She stated that in addition to the <br />5% on the gross revenues, there are also public educational and governmental <br />capital grants totaling $854,000, with about $228,000 goes to Peninsula TV and <br />80% of those funds will be received in the first five years of the franchise <br />agreement.
