6.1.J. - Page 2 <br />homes require easements that are approximately 3.5' in width, which allows for the <br />sidewalk to be adequately wide to meet the City's standards without changing the <br />existing width of the travel lanes. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The project will address the community need for increased pedestrian safety and <br />mobility by providing a continuous sidewalk from along Alameda De Las Pulgas from <br />Brewster Ave to the intersection and crosswalks at Harding Ave. The project will provide <br />a full accessible pedestrian path of travel across Alameda De Las Pulgas. The design <br />conforms to City, State, and Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards. Other <br />associated improvements include curb and gutter, sidewalk and curb ramps, storm drain <br />inlet improvements, and the restoration of private property improvements. <br />In accordance with City requirements, the City completed the advertising and bidding <br />process for the construction contract. Eight bids were received by the deadline on <br />August 1, 2018.
