E+2 1 CC should do its job including making any appointments. Their job is not to wait for <br />political expedience. Do not follow the lame example of the US Senate. <br />+1 1 - we shouldn't wait for one person to continue planning. Let's get someone in there to <br />keep the ball rolling. <br />+1 1 - They still have not filled this spot? Should have already been taken care of. <br />+1 1. The City Council should fill the seat as quickly as possible after it is vacated. <br />+1 2. 1 am conflicted about this. I feel the city council that stays in term for awhile should be <br />the one to deal with the consequences of the planning commission they put in place, however <br />I also feel our government in general is suffering from too many process blocks and is having <br />difficulty getting anything done. I see the argument in this particular situation to wait, however <br />I feel our elected officials should always be able to act in a timely manner. So to set precedent, <br />this example should be no different <br />+1 1 -Move forward regardless of the election and appoint someone! Business can't stop <br />because of politics! It's a freaking emergency that we continue planning and building. <br />+1 1 -Don't sandbag and introduce potential corruption <br />+1 1. Get the job done. The planning Commissioner represents the people of Redwood City <br />and should get to work asap. Our development is getting out of control and should add to our <br />tax base and pay for the shortfall we have for services. Now! <br />+1 2. 1 don't know enough about the impacts of being down one planning commissioner but I <br />do like the way the city is dealt with necessary growth so far. We need to build more housing <br />but in a way that still focuses on community, environment and infrastructure. <br />+1 1 Let's not ape the shamelessly partisan Republican -controlled US Senate in inventing non- <br />existent "rules" and playing unprecedented political games by stalling appointments whenever <br />an election happens to be on the horizon. Timely appointments should be made without delay <br />whenever a vacancy should occur, regardless of whether an election is months away or years <br />away. <br />1 (strongly oppose) city council should wait until after November election to appoint a new <br />planning commissioner <br />
